SPF, which stands for Sender Policy Framework, is an email safety system, which is employed to confirm whether an e-mail message is sent by a licensed server. Using SPF protection for a domain name will prevent the forging of emails made with the domain. In layman's terms: activating this attribute for a domain makes a specific record in the Domain Name System (DNS) containing the IP of the servers which are allowed to send emails from mail boxes using the domain. The moment this record propagates worldwide, it exists on all the DNS servers that route the Internet traffic. When an email message is sent, the first DNS server it uses checks if it comes from an official server. When it does, it's sent to the destination address, however when it doesn't come from a server part of the SPF record for the particular domain, it's rejected. Thus nobody will mask an email address to make it appear as if you're sending spam messages. This technique is also identified as email spoofing.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

You'll be able to enable the SPF protection service for your domain names with only a few clicks from the Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all our cloud packages. This is done through the section with an identical name and you can allow the protection for any domain hosted on our hi-tech cloud platform. Using a really intuitive interface, all you'll need to type in is the hostname of the mail server that will be authorized to send out messages from your e-mail addresses and its IPv4 or IPv6 address. Of course, it is possible to add several servers too, if needed. If your email addresses are managed on our end, you may also employ an even more secure option by putting a restriction that e-mails can be sent only if your domains include our MX records. This option can't be used when your web site is here, while your emails are with some third-party service provider. Either way, the SPF protection solution can greatly improve your web security and prevent other people from spoofing your e-mail addresses.
